Emergenza Bandcompetition
Emergenza is the world's largest music festival solely dedicated to new and up-and-coming unsigned bands. It takes place in many major European cities as well as in North America, Asia, including Japan and Oceania. All groups, of any kind or origin, can participate, performing their own original songs. "Covers" are tolerated if given an "original touch".
It is a musical marathon that encompasses some of the most prestigious international stages. The bands participate in a knockout contest, progressing from heat to heat. At the end of each of the concerts, the audience votes for their favorite band of the evening. The band picked by the public then moves forward to the next stage of the Festival. The goal is to reach the International Final. The winners of which, then have the opportunity to perform a live showcase in the U.S.A. including South By South West in Texas or Popkomm in Berlin, Germany.

Since 2005 the Winston Hotel and Nightclub has been a proud part of the St Christopher’s Inns chain of hostels, hotels and apartments – across Europe. You can find St Christopher’s Inns - in London, Edinburgh, Bath, Brighton, Newquay, Paris, Berlin, Bruges and of course – Amsterdam!

You don’t have to worry about public transport when you stay at The Winston. You are surrounded by pubs, restaurants and cafes, the Canal Cruises launch from just around the corner and a whole host of museums are just a few minutes walk away.
Also close by is Dam Square - a great place to get your bearings and find your way to Madame Tussard’s Wax Museum, the Royal Palace, the Niewe Kerk and those quirky little side streets loaded with market stalls, coffee shops and trippy - hippie shops. Or you can just stroll to the World War Two monument in Dam Square, take a seat and watch the world pass you by.
Winston Club
The Winston Kingdom is open 7 nights a week, live music, DJ's, dancing, shows and more is to be expected in this living room – club.
We usually open at 21:00pm sometimes earlier……check the upcoming events for the exact times. Sunday till Thursday we close at 03:00 hours, Friday and Saturday we close at 04:00 hours.
The almost daily live music at the Winston Kingdom varies from rock to sexy glam, hiphop to jazz, electro to punk. You can expect almost everything.
Known and unknown DJ's play at the club, outrageous dancenights, fashionshows, film and book presentations take place and several band competitions happen during the year.
