How can I distribute my bands music online? - 2007/01/30 13:51 Recently I am receiving these spam / advertising messages by Turmic Records. The offer a online music distribution contract with a 70 / 30 split in the musicians advantage. You have pay some money upfront and they take car of the rest.

If you asked me, this is a good way to get screwed. There are more of these initiatives like : Sell-a-band.com.

Anyways, I figured, what they can do, so can we. So I was thinking about undermining their business model and check out the partners they work with.

So, this Turmic Recorsd. deals in place with over 100 legitimate digital download services i.e. iTunes, Napster, AOL, Virgin, MSN, etc.

You can asked yourself do I want to submit my music to over a 100 sites?? Ofcourse not, these big ones will do!

- iTunes
- Emusic
- MSN (Rhapsody / Zune)
- Napster
- Music Match
- MusicNet
- Rhapsody
- Connect

In this forum I will try to find out and tell you how this all works.
